Season’s greetings to you all from everyone at Statiflo.

At this time of year we take a look back at the past 12 months while also looking ahead to the forthcoming year.

It is only appropriate that this review begins with a tribute to our managing director Gareth Fry.

Gareth’s untimely passing left us all deeply saddened. We have lost a friend and colleague whose energy and passion for the business was the driving force behind our recent success.

Here at Statiflo, our achievements during 2021 in many ways reflect the tremendous legacy Gareth has left to us to build upon.

We were extremely proud to win the award for exporting excellence at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Excellence Awards, recognising the growth of our global business and the expansion of our network of business partners.

This year the addition of Spray Nozzle in South Africa has enabled us to expand our market presence in new territories throughout Africa. We are also pleased to have welcomed BM Technics and Schoeler Engineering in Germany, Fortek in Italy and Koster Industrial Services in the Netherlands as new business partners.

We wish our new business partners all the very best in their endeavours working with us to promote our products.

Naturally, COVID-19 has continued to throw up challenges – and opportunities – for the business, and we are extremely grateful to all of you for your dedication and commitment to keep the Statiflo flag flying high around the world.

Brexit has also been at the forefront of the business agenda during 2021 and here at Statiflo we have dealt well with its impact. We are holding a lot of S-type stock in the UK and Germany, and this enables us to respond successfully to our customers’ urgent needs. We have received positive feedback to this initiative, as customers are assured we have stock available and are able to ship our mixers promptly.

The pandemic has inevitably led to the cancellation of most industry conferences and exhibitions since early 2020, so it was immensely pleasing to get back ‘on the road’ at CHEMUK 2021, which took place in September.

Meeting and speaking with customers on video calls has proved an effective alternative, but it is not the same as doing so in person, so it was great to be able to once again showcase our market-leading products and expertise at a key industry event.

We are very much looking forward to attending IFAT in Munich from May 20 to June 3, ACHEMA 2022 in Frankfurt next August, and we are planning to be at WEFTEC 2022 in New Orleans next October.

The pandemic also impacted our plans to host an in-person conference for our business partners this year, so instead we all gathered on Zoom for our first virtual conference.

More than 100 of you took the time to attend and hear updates on new developments and applications for our product range as well as our research and development and marketing activities.

It proved an extremely positive event and a great way to discuss and promote new ideas and improved ways of working, and we are hugely grateful for your input to help make it such a worthwhile occasion.

We are pleased to have made significant progress for the business in many ways this year, despite the challenges we have faced.

There have been successes in territories including the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and the United States, while closer to home we were delighted to be appointed by Scottish Water as the single supplier of static pipe and channel mixers to Scottish Water and its contractors and partners in the latest phase of a long-running framework agreement.

Single supplier agreements are rare in the water industry, so this was a great feather in our cap.

In terms of our internal structure, we were pleased to announce Paul Buck’s promotion from general sales manager to director level and a place on the company’s board.

Paul has been with Statiflo since he joined as an applications engineer in 2008. His promotion reflects our commitment to providing talented colleagues with the opportunity to further their careers with the business.

Carl Wilkinson has also taken a seat on our board as technical director following his promotion from group business development manager. Carl joined Statiflo in 2013 and has been integral to our ongoing research and development programme while also contributing greatly to the company’s expansion into new industries and new applications.

Congratulations to Paul and Carl and we look forward to them playing leading roles in the future development of the business.

We wish all of you a successful and prosperous year ahead working with us as we continue to build our brand and market presence around the world.

Wishing you and your loved ones an enjoyable holiday period, and we hope that you all keep safe and well.

Please note our offices will be closed from midday on December 24th until our reopening on January 4th 2022.
