We are looking forward to attending two major conferences and exhibitions in the US this month.
Lou Mattaliano, our Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for Statiflo Corp, will join our local business partner Premier Water at the South Carolina Environmental Conference, which runs from Sunday, March 13 to Wednesday, March 16.
The conference, which takes place at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center, is an important event for professionals working in the water and wastewater and environmental industries across south east USA.
Premier Water will be at Booths 436-443 and 448-449 in the exhibition hall, showcasing our range of innovative and industry-critical static mixers, gas dispersion systems (GDS), eductors and flow conditioners.
The conference is returning to Myrtle Beach after a three-year absence and is expected to be one of the largest and most highly attended events of its kind on the East Coast this year, with more than 1,200 visitors and 400 exhibitors taking part.
It is being staged by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC) and the South Carolina Section of the American Waterworks Association.
Lou said: “Our static mixing, gas dispersion, eductors and flow conditioning products are a vital part of the industry’s endeavours to efficiently and effectively mix and blend chemicals for the treatment of clean, potable water and wastewater.
“We are therefore delighted to be attending the 2022 SCEC to showcase these products to industry professionals such as water and wastewater operators, engineers and utility managers, and we look forward to welcoming them at our booths in the exhibition hall.”
Later this month, Lou will be one of the speakers at the Montana Rural Water Systems technical conference and exhibition.
The event, which is in its 42nd year, will be held at the Heritage Inn, Great Falls, from Wednesday, March 23 to Friday, March 25.
Its theme will be Infrastructure: Build and Rebuild the Future of Water.
Lou, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the water and wastewater treatment industries, will give his presentation from 10.45am-11.45am in the American Room on Friday, March 25.
His topic will be ‘Static mixers and the benefits of this technology’.
He will lead a discussion about the types of mixing equipment on the market today, explaining why static mixers offer a benefit in a continuous flow application and how to choose the correct style and configuration for various processes, locations and chemicals used at treatment plant facilities.
Lou will emphasise the importance of selecting the proper mixer type, size, length, mixing elements and materials of construction in order to meet or exceed industry accepted standard CoV for optimum mixing.
He will also explain, with case studies, how this mixing technology saves time, money and costs, as it involves low operating and capital overheads.
Lou will also outline the benefits of gas dispersion systems for feed gases such as ozone for disinfection processes at water treatment plants.
The GDS chemically adds gases into the process, reducing bubble sizes and thereby leading to high mass transfer efficiency, which reduces chemical usage, resulting in sizeable cost savings.
With only one moving part – a simple booster pump – the GDS has a very low service pressure drop and low energy consumption.
