Gas dispersion system

Statiflo GDS: AZocleantech.com, the leading online publication for the Clean Technology community, have a great article in their online library where Jesper Kedström, Sales Manager at Primozone (a leading ozone generator supplier), was interviewed as part of the Insights into Industry series.

Jesper explains a little about ozone generators, successful installations and the importance of good mass transfer. Leading on from this, Jesper recommends the use  of the Statiflo Gas Dispersion System for it’s superior technical characteristics in comparison to other forms of ozone injection, and the significant operational expenditure (OPEX) savings.

Jesper explains, “As for a mass transfer system, I prefer using a static mixer like Statiflo GDS, as it not only is a more energy efficient solution, but also gives a better dissolution than a venturi injector based solution. Dome diffusers are cheap but tend to waste the hard earned money that you have invested into producing ozone, as the mass transfer is very poor.”

The Statiflo Gas Dispersion System (GDS) is a new concept for simultaneous mixing and mass transfer. As explained by Jesper, this system overcomes the difficulties associated with the use of a single static mixer as it uses two different mixers.

Benefits of using the Statiflo Gas Dispersion System include:

  • High mass transfer efficiency which does not decrease over time
  • Low capital cost
  • Low pressure drop
  • Gas bubbles generated indepedently of liquid velocity in contactor
  • Low energy consumption
  • High turndown capability
  • Compact design
  • No moving parts except for centrifugal pump
  • Minimal maintenance requirements
  • Simple to operate with no special training required.
