nnovative Non-Ragging Channel Mixer

Innovative Non-Ragging Channel Mixer: Statiflo has updated its innovative non-ragging channel mixer for the water and wastewater industry and will unveil the latest version at next month’s IFAT trade fair.

IFAT is the world’s leading event for water, wastewater, sewage and raw materials management technologies, attracting more than 130,000 visitors and over 3,000 exhibitors from across the globe.

This year’s exhibition takes place in Munich from May 14-18.

Statiflo has developed its non-ragging channel mixer to meet the needs of the industry.

It has a wide range of uses, the most popular of which is to reduce the amount of phosphorus in discharges from sewage works.

Pressure on the industry has mounted from the EU and other bodies to lower phosphorus levels in the water that is discharged into streams, lakes and rivers. This is because high levels can be detrimental to the environment and marine life.

Iron-based compounds are dosed to achieve P-removal targets, but these too can be harmful. Efficient mixing ensures that these ferric doses are minimised.

Gareth Fry, managing director of Statiflo, says the company’s non-ragging channel mixer is effective in several ways.

It is specially designed to prevent blockages, which is the most common issue when using a classic-style static mixer for applications with a high tendency for ragging.

In addition, it ensures efficient mixing, which eliminates the problems associated with chemical over-dosing.

Gareth said: “As well as helping clients comply with the rules on phosphorus levels, the mixer creates further savings by reducing the amount of treatment needed to remove the iron down the line,” he said.

“We are seeing a rise in demand for our non-ragging channel mixer for P-removal schemes because it is cost-effective for clients.

“Over recent months we have implemented a number of measures to make the equipment even more beneficial, by improving the speed of the design process and ensuring the product can be made suitable for a greater variety of channel dimensions, which can vary from site to site.

“This means we are able to provide a more complete offering to the water and wastewater treatment markets in which we operate.

“Visitors to our stand at IFAT 2018 will be able to find out more, and we look forward to welcoming new and existing contacts during the event.”

Gareth along with European sales manager Axel Schmidt and other members of the Statiflo team will be on Stand 108 in Hall C2 at IFAT.
